CERTL Summer Student Research Symposium 2005

High School students involved in research projects at Wake Forest University School of Medicine for 6 week mini-fellowship in Research.

Students prepare an oral presentation that represents the on-going research in their assigned laboratory and their part in the research project. The presentation includes the relevance of the research and its implications for society at large. Student presentations are delivered in a meeting format similar to a scientific conference. The most recent student symposium had an audience of 175 invited guests, including faculty mentors, science teachers, school administrators, and curriculum coordinators, for the 23 presenting students.
