TERC's Center
for Education Partnerships (CEP) is the site of the Northeast
CERTL Center. TERC is a not-for-profit education research and development
organization based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Our mission is to
improve mathematics, science and technology teaching and learning.
TERC works at the edges of current theory and practice to:
- contribute to the understanding of learning
and teaching
- create curricula and other products
- design and test exemplary models of professional
development
- develop applications of new technologies
- support school reform through research
and technical assistance.
For almost 40 years TERC has emphasized an innovative, inquiry-based
approach to learning by students from every background, searching
for ways to include more students in meaningful learning experiences
in science and mathematics. While our vision propels us forward,
we stay grounded in the realities of today's classrooms by conducting
most of our research and development in schools. In 2004, TERC programs
and products reached nearly 2 million students in all 50 states
and 87 countries. schedules
